Very unlikely: It sounds as if you are worried about lyme disease. Deer ticks are potential carriers of lyme disease, human anaplasmosis and babesiosis. Lyme disease can cause very disabling permanent effects; death has been reported, but would be unusual. Anaplasmosis and babesiosis would not be considered deadly. Small.: Deer mice are widespread throughout the U.S. and about 20% carry hantavirus. Hantavirus is carried into the lungs by dust & dirt particles which an N-95 is about 90% effective in blocking out. Only a few strains of hantavirus cause HPS (Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome.) The virus is killed quickly by sunlight exposure. You took the right precautions & are unlikely to get sick from HPS. ...Read more

Safe way to get a used needle out of biohazard container? Need the one they used for my injection to analyze needle contamination (microbes, viruses)
Contamination: Don't do this. Once in that container it may well have been contaminated by other materials within the container, and the very reason these containers are used is to prevent you from being inadvertently exposed to the pathogens that may be within them. Analyzing the flora on the needle will be grossly misleading and an inappropriate means of data collection. ...Read more
