Hello doctor. Iam 26 weeks pregnant and I have stage 2placenta previ. Does position of placenta predicts the gender?

Hello doctor. Iam 26 weeks pregnant and I have stage 2placenta previ. Does position of placenta predicts the gender?

Nope: A grade 2 placenta only describes the maturity appearance of the placenta on ultrasound. A previa is a dangerous condition that requires c-section for delivery to avoid hemorrhage, fetal loss, or death. Gender is a different topic but this can be seen on us when repeating your scan @ 32-34 wks to see if your previa has moved away from the cervix. Please discuss this with your OB & take care. ...Read more

See below.: Fundal means at the top of your uterus closest to your head. Anterior means in the front part of your uterus closest to your belly button. Low-lying placenta: A low-lying placenta is when the placenta has implanted near the cervix but not over it as in a placenta previa. Hi,14th week running for me. Today I went to scan. They mentioned — anterior low-lying placenta.is it problem to my unbron baby.please sugges?

Placental location: An anterior low-lying placenta is a possible cause of bleeding if running at this stage of pregnancy. It is unlikely to cause a serious problem for your baby, however. Usually the low-lying placenta will be located higher up as the uterus grows, and will not be a problem for delivery. Another sonogram in a month may show it to be in a more normal position. ...Read more

What does placenta anterior encoarching on lower segment means? I am 5 months pregnant

Not to worry: This is a minor detail of an ultrasound report and only has relevance for an obstetrician who might be doing a cesarean section. A c-section incision is made through the lower uterine segment and so knowing this provides a caution to the surgeon when s/he operates. Generally in pregnancy, as the uterus and baby grow, a placenta tends to move back from this position so I doubt it will be important ...Read more

I just had my ultrasound at 17weeks and it says i have anterior low-lying placenta grade 1. How can may placenta to normal position??

Wait till 28 weeks: Whether the placenta will obstruct the internal opening of the neck (cervix) of the uterus can best be determined after 28 weeks of gestation. By then, most "low-lying" placentas have resolved on their own. In the meantime, caution with intercourse may be prudent to avoid anxiety and stressfrom vaginal bleeding. ...Read more

What are the risks of turning a baby that is breech with an anterior placenta?

My placenta is anterior! Does having an anterior placenta effect the feeling of the baby's movements? What is an anterior placenta?

Anterior = front: Anterior is just another name for the front. Visualize your womb as an upside down bag, with your placenta located on the front wall and the baby behind it. Location has little to do with perception of movements. Most first timers pick it up by 20 wks, repeats do at 16-18. ...Read more

I'm 31weeks pregnant I have an anterior placenta every time I run to the E. R they say he is fine should I worry when I don't feel him move for hours?

Do movement counts: I ask my patients to do "Fetal Movement Counts". Pick the time of day when the baby is normally active. Lie down and feel for the baby to move. You should have 10 movements in two hours. If you have 10 in 5 minutes, you are done. If after 2 hrs, you only have 9 movements, come to the hospital. If you are still not having adequate movement, in my opinion do weekly biophysical profile ultrasounds. ...Read more
