Burning pain below front left rib, told it was ulcer 2 years ago, took antacids went away so stopped. Now pain is back and does not seem food related?

Depends: Depends of what is the reason for an ulcer. If it i'd due to h. Pylori infection, than you need course of antibiotics, there are other reasons for peptic ulcers and in each case you won't get rid of an ulcer unless you eliminate the cause. I ran out of my antacid ulcer medicine so I took some Tums (calcium carbonate) calcium/calcium supplement. Is that bad?
I have an ulcer and had the breathing test for h. Pylori bacteria. Will it show negative if i had taken an antacid Zantac (ranitidine) and maalox that morning?
It may: Zantac (ranitidine) has been shown to affect breath h.Pylori test, although, not to the same degree as proton pump inhibitors (prilosec, Prevacid and their ilk). 10yr old girl with tummy pain. 3 mo on prescription antacid helped, now 6 mo later pain is back. Has been tested for allergies. Could it be an ulcer?

Pylori infection, possibly gastritis, but keep in mind that in kids an abdominal pain can be a symptom of wide variety of problems including anxiety and depression.
