Stretches do help: A fellow sufferer here, as well as several MDs in our practice. The stretches on the link below do help, you will see progressive improvement. We all had a great deal of success with them. The tearing from those ligaments may cause swelling (mild to severe) and the swelling may impinge on the surrounding skin nerves.
