Differential diagnosis of painless bilateral knee buckling?

Differential diagnosis of painless bilateral knee buckling?

Knee buckling.: Buckling implies weakness of the knees, which generally could come from the joint itself (osteoarthritis) or the muscles and ligaments surrounding the knees. Weakening of the muscles would lessen the support function of the joints. Ligaments can tear from trauma or just from use over time. ...Read more

Diagnosed with ankle tendonitis, now foot , ankle lower leg all swollen. ?

Diagnosed with ankle tendonitis, now foot , ankle lower leg all swollen. ?

Ankle smankle: You need to describe the location of the ankle tendonitis. Is it front, back, inside, outside painful to stand or move? What was done to confirm the diagnosis of tendonitis. If you are continuing to use the ankle is that motion now causing compensatory swelling? Or is something else really going on? A lot to think about but it will make your problem easier to solve. ...Read more

ER dx of torn ligament in knee. 30d later more swollen, spreading to thigh over knee. Ortho f/u in 9d. If correct dx would I be walking/thigh swollen?

Knee injury: Usually knee swelling will resolve over 4-6 weeks with an isolated ligament tear, such as ACL or MCL tear. If swelling persists, you may have additional damage in the knee, like a meniscus tear, or damaged joint cartilage. Recommend MRI of the knee to assess for these injuries. ...Read more

ER doc said swollen foot, foot/toe pain is plantar fascia, ortho surgeon says likely morton's nueroma, ordered MRI. Worried about misdiagnosis/surgery?

Here are some ...: What you worried about is genuine and you're not alone because all the medical care is based on "indirect" evidence resulting from professional continual collection & analysis of available experience so the treating Doc makes a best possible judgment to proceed with care. At times, surgical exploration may be the "only" way to verify what is going on and causing your pain. This is reality of life! ...Read more

Had outer ankle sprain 20 days back. x rayed ankle, its a ligament sprain.now able to walk mostly no pain but swelling persists on inner & outer ankle?

Ankle sprain.: It sounds like your ankle is healing up nicely. The swelling might just be residual and may very well continue to recede with more time. If at six weeks total you still have difficulties with the ankle, you might need another evaluation and perhaps an MRI scan. See how it goes. ...Read more

1cm painful lump over thoracolumbar fascia. Gp diag as knot. Massage ruled out knot. Area of compression injury 90 days ago. Lipoma or scar tissue?

1cm painful lump over thoracolumbar fascia. Gp diag as knot. Massage ruled out knot. Area of compression injury 90 days ago. Lipoma or scar tissue?

Go back to gp: You have a significant history of trauma with a compression injury. You have an area that is painful. Your gp thought it was a knot but message did not help. If you had a ct scan with your old injury ask your gp to have it re-read. Otherwise ask your gp to re-evaluate. Be well. ...Read more

Cyst like on top my left foot and diagnosed of protruding bone called Ganglion exostosis. foot doctor said I need a surgery. is this true?

Cyst like on top my left foot and diagnosed of protruding bone called Ganglion exostosis. foot doctor said I need a surgery. is this true?

We all need somthing: Sounds like you have an exostosis, which is nothing more than an outgrowth of bone, and a ganglion cyst. If the condition is causing pain, numbness or a problem with the functioning of your foot, then surgery is probably called for. If, however, you have a lump and no symptoms associated with it, then, you have the opportunity of holding off on the surgery for what I call a "wait see". ...Read more

Lesion on mammogram. Nodule on xray. Clear ct. Swollen lnodes. Likely cancer? Lump w/o mobility nor pain. Pain @ site of nodule. Biopsy? Smoker 20 yr

Hard to tell: whether these findings are related or not. All need to be evaluated. Is the mammo lesion the same as the lump? What is the radiologist's recommendation? Is there a lung nodule? Speak with your doctor about all of these results, and the next steps. ...Read more

Is it difficult to see a fracture ot the talus . I fractured my ft. Ankle and tibia and fibula 3 mo ago ankle & top foot still hurt?

Foot pain: Tamar fractures can occasionally be difficult to see, as can other fractures to bones in the foot/ankle. It sounds like you had a lot of fractures - the healing, along with having to change how you bear weight on that foot, may be the cause of your pain. I'd get the opinion of your orthopedic surgeon, as he/she may recommend additional imaging. ...Read more

Dr on here said to c my pcp but didn't answer what lump could be? Marble sized unmovable tender lump inch above my elbow in uppr armon tendon or bone

Go see your doc!: It's impossible to tell from the little bit of info you've given, especially w/o examination. Perhaps you just have a swollen lymph node. Or abscess (pus pocket). Or (sebaceous) cyst. Not a common area for ganglion cyst. Maybe (aneurysmal) bone cyst. Bottom line, you need to go see your doc.
