If u have a depressed r ankle/knee jerk and your lumbar spine has been ruled out, can I assume it's coming from higher up?
Must be peripheral: Hyperactive deep tendon reflexes reflect involvement of the upper motor neuron (spinal cord and/or brain). If you have a depressed DTR (deep tendon reflexes) the problem must be peripheral (from the motor neuron to the peripheral nerve). Symmetry also matters so if the patellar reflexes are normal then it is very unlikely to be a problem above the spinal cord. An EMG might be helpful. Good luck. ...Read more
I think my ankle is failing. I can't fully rotate it , it just jerks around and there are days when its paralyzed. Plus it isn't aligned with my knee ?
My son is 9yrs old he factured his ankle joint on 9th january but right now also he is not able to walk properly he gives little jerk and then walks.
Someone fell on the outside of my ankle and i heard a pop. Not that long after it was hard to rotate my ankle and it hurt on the outside. What is it?
Many causes: They range from stretched out or torn ankle ligaments (usually laterally) to nerve problems causing weakness of the muscle that prevent your ankle from twisting the tendon ruptures/problems. In addition bone structure problems such as tarsal coalitions or varus deformities of the hind foot. Sometimes just unrehabilitated muscle strength with loss of proprioception. Get evaluated to sort it out. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
