Swelling: Fracture ankles tend to swell for quite some time. Gravity pulses fluid blood etc to the area. They can swell after trauma for months and longer. If obese, have high blood pressure, smoke, drink alcohol and have salt in diet you will swell more. Hope this helps! ...Read more
