Might need to see Dr: There are many causes of knee pain. Tendinitis generally doesnt respond to medications. A physiotherapist might be helpful re your bracing. Suggest get it checked if worsening. IT CAN BE FIXED: To be clear, you had a dorsiflexory osteotomy of the 1st metatarsal, and it was raised too much? If so, the surgery is essentially reversed to drop the metatarsal down.
