Sprained ankle 2 weeks ago on crutches for a week and in an air brace swelling not going down at all not weight bearing bone hurting out in side?

I am in an air cast for an ankle sprain. All its doing is causing swelling and pain. Could I juat wear and ankle brace instead?
Possibly: If it is just an ankle sprain, and definitely not a fracture immobilization is not required definitively. The main purpose would be to provide support and aid in your function. If its a more severe ankle sprain stage 4 or possible ankle fracture non displaced, a cam or walker boot is necessary. Hope this helps answer you question. ...Read more
