Angiokeratoma Of Fordyce Treatment
Patient's choice: Often the best treatment is to do nothing. Depending on what's available, lasers, cryotherapy, microsurgery may all be offered.
Angiokeratomas: Angiokeratomas are small bumps on the skin, about 2-4 mm in diameter, that appear like watery, blood-filled blisters (vesicles). These are a form of benign overgrowth of capillary blood vessels in the superficial skin. The most effective way to treat them if you want to get rid of them is by freezing (cryotherapy).See 1 more doctor answer
I'm a 32 y/o f with angiokeratoma on labia majora. What causes this? Is there an affordable treatment? If treated is it likely to recur?
Symptoms?: Angiokeratomas are benign skin lesions of capillaries (tiny blood vessels). I am not sure what causes them. Most patients are without symptoms and do not require treatment. However, intermittent bleeding, itching, and pain can occur. Laser therapy is one outpatient treatment. Excision and grafting may be needed, which should be definitive therapy.
Is it possible to get rid of scrotal Angiokeratomas forever after cryotherapy or laser treatment. Best regards, Fadhel?
No, but. ..: Some men tends to have angiokeratomas on their scrotum, which requires no treatment if being free of mental & physical hang-up - concern, and there has been no known means to "cure" it. So, you needs to adopt and adapt to what you have got in life. I do realize this is not what you like to hear; but, I'm sure this is what you need to hear; don't let political correctness and commercialism rein.See 1 more doctor answer
No!: The pathophysiology of angiokeratomas remains unknown, although increased venous pressure may contribute to their formation. Also a case report recommends considering fabry disease in all male patients with angiokeratomas, even if localized to the scrotum.
Fordyce spots: Vaporising laser treatments such as co2 laser or electro-desiccation are used with success in diminishing the appearance of this condition if they are of cosmetic concern, despite the fact that most doctors consider this a normal physiological phenomenon and advise against treatment.
Isn't there any treatment for the labia's Fordyce spots other than laser remover? Many dermatologists told me there is no cure for it
Lots of Fordyce spots on penis shaft right up to the head. Also lots of hair follicles in some of them. Do I consult my doctor about treatment for it?
Not necessary. ..: Fordyce spots are ectopic sebaceous glands, which are not related with hair follicles. Normally, every hair follicle has its own sebaceous gland to go with it but invisible; however, some may be hyperactive so to grow their size bigger becoming visible like pimples. Usually, no care for them is needed as long as they don't hurt you and not mentally bother you. So, it's not practically necessary..

Removal: A doctor could remove the lesion and that would cure the problem. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.
I hav some small sized bumps on my penis. They r in large no. @ bottom n several on top-mid portion. My doctor said its angiokeratoma but cud not cure.
Angiokeratomas: Angiokeratomas are common and can be confused with pearly papules & vice versa. They're a non-problem, just like some guys have freckles on their faces -- many guys with freckles like them. You can have them lasered or frozen off by a dermatologist if you wish. Instead, why not keep them and make the decision once you're in a stable marriage?
No, but...: There is no known topical agent to get rid of Fordyce spots since they are ectopic sebaceous glands, which are too deep for drug to work. So, do not try any. Known to us, these spots are inborn and harmless so to leave them along. If mentally bothered, seek dermatologist for evaluation and counseling and decide if treatment is needed or not.
Angiokeratoma are...: Angio has to do with blood vessels, while kerato pertains to the tough outer layer of the skin. Angiomas are benign proliferations of blood vessels that usually area red or blue. Keratoses are benign skin lesions that appear tough and sometimes wart like. Put them together and you get a benign red or blue skin lesion that is tough and wart like. A dermatologist can confirm the diagnosis.
