When do you notice effect of androderm (testosterone) patch?

Days to weeks: All testosterone replacement products get into your system pretty quickly so you should start noticing something shortly. With that said, it also depends upon how low you were to start and how large a dose/patch you're given/taking. In other words, there's less noticeable change going from b+ to a- as compared to moving from d- or even f to an strong b grade. But that's also dose dependent. ...Read more

If I am concerned with estrogen levels after starting testosterone therapy, are doctors willing to prescribe an estrogen blocker?

If I am concerned with estrogen levels after starting testosterone therapy, are doctors willing to prescribe an estrogen blocker?

Why the concern?: Testosterone replacement is supposed to restore normal levels, not higher than normal. As such, with normal levels, estrogen production should not be excessive. If you have cirrhosis of the liver, you may have elevated estrogen. If you notice breast enlargement on therapy, have your physician check an Estradiol level, and if elevated, consider Letrozole or arimidex (anastrozole). ...Read more

If i start using a prescribed testosterone supplement will it cause my body to stop producing its own testosterone?

Yes: As with many biological systems, the end-product (testosterone) signals the system to make less of itself. This is known as negative feedback. With testosterone, the down-regulation of your own testosterone production may eventually recover after stopping use of supplemental testosterone. ...Read more

Should i be worried about estrogen using androderm (testosterone)? My doctor isn't. Also what about hcg? My doc says it's not used anymore?

Should i be worried about estrogen using androderm (testosterone)? My doctor isn't. Also what about hcg? My doc says it's not used anymore?

U raise valid quest.: Overweight males especially should be checked for estrogen, but i generally check all men that i start on testosterone, as if elevated can be a source of failed improvement and can be an increase in risk of cardiac issues and dvt. Hcg is used if one is preserving sperm as testosterone generally reduces sperm count whereas HCG is actually used to increase sperm count as well as libido in low t. ...Read more

Which testoserone product is more effective androgel or androderm (testosterone)?

Which testoserone product is more effective androgel or androderm (testosterone)?

Equally effective: Both are equally effective in supplementing testosterone in hypogonadal men and are approved by the fda for such. It's a matter of personal preference as well as formulary coverage. Risk of Androderm is adhesive dermatitis or rash from patch. Risk from AndroGel is transfer to partner or kids. These specific risks are in addition to general risks associated w/testosterone in any other shape or form. ...Read more

I use androderm (testosterone) and work 6pm to 5am, what time should I apply the patch?

Whenever you wake up: Your body's clock will be somewhat offset because of the hours you work. I would suggest you place it about an hour after you wake up to best mimic the normal rhythm of secretion. It would be best to coordinate this with the physician who is treating you so that follow up testing can be coordinated. Sorry it took awhile to get to you. Good luck! ...Read more

Is weider prime that supports testosterone safe for younger women to take?

No: I wouldn't recommend any over-the-counter products of that sort. Can be dangerous, and there is no evidence of its benefits. You might see short-term benefits if you are a power lifter or body builder, but the risks aren't worth it. If your interest is in powerlifting or bodybuilding, you might consider http://nanbf.org/ (North American Natural Bodybuilding Federation). Hope that helps. ...Read more
