Liver diagnosis 60 f -ast302/alt438 ANA pos. Us neg liver biopsy 1st dr diagnosis pri biliary cirrhosis. 2nd dr autoimmune hep. diangosis ursodiol 5wk retest. Do you agree?
Yes, need follow up: You have a combination of primary biliary cirrhosis (pbc) and autoimmune hepatitis (aih). The treatments are different, ursodeoxycholic acid is used to treat pbc, but may not bring down the ast/alt elevation associated with aih. If the urso does not bring down the ast/alt, you may need additional medications, such as steroids or azathioprine, to control the aih. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Why are you worrying: No great answer except that digestive symptoms are common at your age and related cancer is not. Most cancers do not cause your symptoms but some can affect digestion. What did your doctor tell you? You should ask a doctor who knows you. Maybe there is a specific reason you worry about cancer and not the usual causes of these symptoms? Do you need to be worried for some personal reason? ...Read more

No...Second opinion: Not likely to be pancreatic cancer given the imaging you've had so far. There is a blood test you can get that you that might be reassuring. Why so worried? : It sounds like you have already undergone an extensive evaluation. Rectal and colon cancer are very rare at your age. Typically, a flexible sigmoidoscopy is sufficient in your age group. Given your young age, and extensive studies, I think your risk is low. Are there other symptoms or lifestyle choices that make you worry about anal disease? ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have 2 alcoholic family members who have liver cirrhosis.. concerned about haemochromatosis. But cbc, lft, CT scan, mrcp normal. GI dr said not worry?
You don't have it: If all of those tests are normal, and hopefully including a normal iron panel, then you don't have hemochromatosis. The only other concern would be if you knew that your relatives had the genetic mutation for hereditary hemochromatosis. Doesn't sound like it though. Their alcoholism was probably the cause. ONLY get the genetic test IF they are positive. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Stop worrying: You have nothing to worry about except that fact that you are still a smoker, which i hope you'll stop. CT/MRCP shows inflammation of gallbladder, liver and spleen. Sev RUQ pain. 18yo. ANA positive,IgG low, no stones. Dr ordered hida scan. Ideas?
See rheumatologist: You appear to have an autoimmune and/or immune deficiency problem. I note that you are already on Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) (SLE?). If you are already under the care of a rheumatologist, consider getting an immune evaluation as well because of the low IgG (how low?). If the problem progresses, you need to go to an university center for further workup. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
