May be allergy: If this is an allergy to penicillin (amino penicillin is amoxacillin) and the tongue is involved, it could lead to angio-neurotic edema of the larynx. Antibiotic: I assume the red area under your tongue is in proximity to the infected tooth. Whether or not it is, area should be evaluated by your Dentist. Antibiotic will not cure tooth infection, only reduce the spread of infection until tooth can receive root canal treatment or extraction. If not, when pills run out infection will come roaring back.
