Take either: I can't recall any reason not to use either medicine for your discomfort. They should have no effect at all on the activities of the antibiotic. Your stomach meds work there & the capsule encases the abx so it glides past the stomach so it avoids the stomach acid. It is absorbed in the intestines before it starts to work. ...Read more

Belly Pain (Definition)

Abdominal pain is pain that you feel anywhere between your chest and groin. This is often referred to as the stomach region or belly. Almost everyone experiences pain in the abdomen at one time or another. Most of the time, it is not caused by a serious medical problem. There are many organs in the abdomen. Pain in the abdomen can originate from any one of them, including: Organs related to digestion -- the end of the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas The aorta -- a large blood vessel that runs straight down the inside of the abdomen The appendix -- an organ in the lower right abdomen that no longer serves much function The kidneys -- two bean-shaped organs that lie deep within the abdominal cavity The spleen -- an organ involved in blood maintenance and infection control However, the pain may start from somewhere else -- like your chest or pelvic area. You may also have a generalized infection, such as the flu or strep throat, that affects many parts of your body. The intensity of the pain does not always reflect the seriousness of the condition causing the pain. Severe abdominal pain can be from mild conditions, such as gas or the cramping of viral gastroenteritis. On the other hand, relatively mild pain or no pain may be present with life-threatening conditions, such as cancer of the ...Read more

Mild occasional stomach pain two months after 2g of amoxicillin a day for two weeks and ibprofun for two weeks before. Pain isn't everyday either.

Abdominal pain: This may or may not be related to the Amoxicillin or the Ibuprofen (which can cause gastric irritation). The abdominal pain needs a new and thorough evaluation, perhaps for Helicobacter infection or other ongoing issues. You might want to consult with a GI doctor. ...Read more

On augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) (after zpack) for sinus infection but intense stomach pain after 3 pills. Can i switch to amoxcillin without restarting another 7 days?

Sinusitis: The use of antibiotics for sinus infection is very controversial. You may not need any if you use nasal saline irrigation with a neti-pot, nasal steroid spray and a decongestant (either Pseudoephedrine orally or an oxymetozaline spray, both available otc). If you reacted negatively to Azithromycin and your doctor ok'd the Amoxicillin this should be ok without restarting. ...Read more

It can.: Any antibiotic including Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) can cause stomach discomfort. Taking with food can limit this side effect. Occasional abdominal pain after a 14 days of 2g of amoxicillin a day. Constant pain during. Not as bad anymore how long can it last . Taking probiot?

Until you heal: Your GI distress will last until your gut heals from the injury caused by the medicine. Probiotics are a great idea. We offer packets of 225 billion to take every 1-3 days for a few doses to get through this more quickly. You might also minimize any intake of sugar, soda, etc. as they might slow healing and restoration of your gut. www.blatmanhealthandwellness.com ...Read more
