Am to have a colonoscopy on June 30th....had a total hip replacement 2 1/2 years ago, and prior to dental /periodontry work, I take 4 amoxicillin befo?
Question?: What exactly is your question regarding premedication?
I have cellulitis and just finished a script of clindamyisin and it hasn't cleared all the way up I have some amoxicillin laying around can I take it?
No: I would not use amoxicillin to treat a skin infection when you are unsure of what is the causative bacteria. Using antibiotics inappropriately at best can cause resistant bacteria and at worst can cause further serious infections in you such as c. diff colitis. See your doctor if the cellulitis is not improving.See 1 more doctor answer
Amoxil (amoxicillin): Peak effect is 1-2 hours of ingestion, then it rapidly drops off. That's why you have to take several doses a day. I'm just curious as to what effects you are experiencing because amoxil (amoxicillin) is about the kindest most benign antibiotic you can take. I wonder if the effects you are experiencing aren't the illness you are being treated for???
I just took 4 875mg amoxicillin back to back, without knowing I shouldn't make up doses. Am I likely to overdose?
U will b ok.: I doubt u will have any untoward symptoms. Lesson learned?See 1 more doctor answer
My four month has amoxicillin, it expired the 19th can she take it today? Until I get more in the morning, she hasn't had any for two days now.
Please don't give: I would advise to not give it because it has expired. It might cause adverse reaction. Expired meds can cause adverse reactions.
My 5 mnth old's dr prescribed amoxicillin for what seems like a cold. He didn't diagnose her with anything, he said just incase. Is its necessary?
No: Colds are viral illnesses that should not be treated with antibiotics that are used for bacterial infections. There is an international initiative to prevent the inappropriate use of antibiotics such as what you describe. If your facts are accurate and complete I would recommend you get a different pediatrician for your baby.
I've been taking amoxicillin for almost a week. I haven't had the symptoms I was given amoxicillin for in a couple of days. Should I still finish?
???: I don't understand the question. Why would you take an antibiotic if you don't have an infection?
Yes, usually you can: A 3-day course of antibiotics usually eradicate UTI-causing bacteria well for most of uncomplicated UTI in females; so, you may stop amoxicillin as long as being free of symptoms, esp. Having prior experience in treating UTI like what you described. More? Seek evaluation/ counseling, or contact www. HealthTap. I finished my amoxicillin yesterday and haven't taken any today. Would it be okay if I drank alcohol tonight?
Yes: You could have had alcohol yesterday too.
Can I have a shot or two of alcohol if I haven't had any amoxicillin today then take it tomorrow? Iv had a very stressful day.
Take amoxicllin &...: I have no idea why you are taking Amoxicillin (information like that is important to give you a reasonable answer) but if you are on an antibiotic it can be hazardous to skip a day- it will reduce blood levels & may foster resistance. While it is best to not drink alcohol while on amoxicillin, most people will tolerate a shot or 2. Not taking it is likely worse than having it & alcohol. See comment.See 1 more doctor answer
My 3 year old son is 32pounds and was given amoxicillin 400mg/5ml 100ml to take 5ml twice a day for strep. Take all&finish. Isn't the dosage too much
No, that dose is: Fine. There is a dosing range depending on the child's weight, which is 40-80 mg/kg/day. He is 14.5 kg, so this dose is 55mg/kg/day, which is perfectly fine.
Last Saturday daughter was prescribed amoxicillin 400mb/5ml 5ml/twice daily for strep, she weighs 92 lbs, and hasn't bounced back, is dosage correct?
My son ingested his sister's antibiotics and he is supposed to start his amoxicillin dosage yesterday but I didn't give it to him cause he took his si?
Question truncated: Your question truncated. Question appears to be about amoxicillin dosage taken by the wrong child. As long as the meds are of the same concentration this should not be a problem. Continue amoxicillin for both siblings.
Hopefully better: Not sure what you are asking. Generally Amoxicillin has few side-effects. Some people have mild GI intolerance, and there are allergic reactions. If it is doing its job and was chosen carefully you should feel improved.
