Pseudomembranous col: You could have c. difficult especially from taking all those broad spectrum antibiotics. The flagella (metronidazole should help). If it doesn't then you need to let your doctor know. Sometimes they need stronger, very expensive antibiotics to cure you. Sounds like you could have pseudomembranous colitis. ...Read more

Just started cipro (ciprofloxacin) for UTI (3rd since april) 1st dose last night 10pm. Today vomiting nausea and forceful diarrhea. Could it be cipro (ciprofloxacin)?
Recurrent UTI's: A more important question you need to ask is: why am i having recurrent uti's? You need to see a urologist to make sure you do not have an anatomical defect in your urinary system causing your uti's to develop. If there is such a problem, resolution of it may prevent future ones. What does the doctor who is giving you Cipro (ciprofloxacin) say about your recurrent uti's? ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Treated sinus infection with liquid augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate), (amoxicillin and clavulanate) didnt work, took augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) pills, cold symptoms went away, swelling in face got worse. should i worry?
Be concerned: You should see your doctor to get this checked out. You may have a sinus infection and may need further evaluation. Absolutely: The combination of Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) and clindamycin can alter the normal bacteria in your gut and lead to C. difficile enter0colitis. Probably: For simple antibiotic related diarrhea it would be ok to take Imodium (loperamide) for a brief period only. If diarrhea is very severe while on those antibiotics, a superinfection with clostridium difficile would be suspected and this is not treated with Imodium (loperamide) but with flagyl or vancomycin as it is a serious complication and is diagnosed with a stool culture.Check Anyone on antibiotics with severe diarrhea ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I'm taking Amoxicilin, Omeprazole, Azithromycine, bismuth subcitrate. Can I have constipation in first days and now have diarrhea?
Yes: Bismuth can cause constipation but antibiotics like amoxicillin & azithromycin often cause diarrhea because they kill much of our friendly flora as well as unfriendly bacteria like H. pylori. I advise all my patients to take probiotics like Sacchromyces bouardii & lactobacillus acidophilus & bifidus while taking antibiotics & for a few weeks after to prevent & reverse diarrhea from antibiotics. ...Read more
