Antibiotics: Antibiotics will control an infection, but do not remove the cause of the infection (your wisdom tooth). In the end, you'll still need to see a dentist, probably for an extraction. Why wait? You're only prolonging your suffering. Please call for an appointment. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Few times.: The most common STD infections are not treated with amoxicillin. There are still some infections that can be treated with penicillin. Consult with your doctor on the best treatment alternatives. Different STDs have different treatments, some respond to antibiotics, some to antivirals, and some to medical procedures or other types of medications. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Yes,but drink it all: You can mix the two together, but then you have to be sure you or your child drinks every last little bit of the combination to get all of the medicine. The medicine you ask about, augmentin, (amoxicillin and clavulanate) is not very palatable, especially the generic. Yu can also ask many pharmacists to flavor the medication if you or child can't stand the taste, or chase it with something like m&m's to make it taste better. ...Read more

No guarantees: There's no major interaction with alcohol. That being said, when sick (the reason I'm assuming you are taking amox/clav) alcohol can delay recovery as well as interfere with productive rest/sleep. Amox/clav is broken down in part by the liver as is alcohol, so there is certainly potential for harm there especially with excess. I would avoid alcohol until feeling well and off antibiotics. ...Read more

Only caveat is are you sure you have a bacterial infection? ...Read more
