6 hours is fine: If the prescription says 3 times a day (tid), every 8 hours is not the requirement. When it comes to oral antibiotics such as amoxicillin, every 6 hours should be practically just as good. Long answer but that's what i expect of my patients if i write 3 times a day prescription.
