Is it ok if I cut augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) pill in pieces before take it or there'll be any side effects? Should I eat first?

Some can, some cannot: Some forms of Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) CANNOT be crushed - if the bottle says XR or “extended-release” anywhere, that is key. However, that information may be hidden in the fine print of the package labelling, so your best bet is going to be to ask your doctor or local pharmacist for guidance with the product you have in your possession; some Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) products can be crushed and cut, some cannot. Prescribed amox/clav 875 2 times a day for 10 days. Could only handle the side effects for 7 days. Would that be good enough for sinus infection?

Sinus: By definition you have had an incomplete course of Abx. Best to be rechecked esp. If purulent discharge, Could use oxymetazoline spray every 4 hours for one week to decrease tissue swelling around sinus openings. Also saline nasal irrigations three times a day for one week. This is assuming you do not have chronic rhinosinusitis, polyps, smoker. These conditions will require much more treatment. Read more
