Amitriptyline For Shingles Pain
Been taking Tramadol for almost a year for idiopathic nerve pain in legs. Dr has prescribed Lyrica (pregabalin). Would Tapentadol be better for pain relief ?
I have MS and trigem neuralgia and have terrible pain. Tried gaba, baclofen, norco, (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) elavil, tegretol, otc, etc...What is the best pain med for this?

Neuropathy: They are different. Often they can used in combination. I tend to reserve Amitriptyline for use at night for patients who are also having trouble with insomnia. Yes it is safe, but: Doesn't work well to prevent migraine headaches, and is not fda approved for that purpose. Other far better meds are available. 50mg tramadol isn't giving me relief at all for fibromyalgia or behcets joint pain. Any other pain med recommendations?
See details: First of all, your doctor has to try to determine whether the pain is related to fm or to behcet's. I agree fibromyalgia pain should be treated with meds such as cymbalta, gabapentin, Lyrica or savella (milnacipran).
