My docs say that propranolol 60mg, venlafaxine 150mg and amitriptyline 10mg cannot cause drowsiness. But I am experiencing drowsiness, confusion etc. ?
They could....: I have no doubt that the Amitriptyline can cause drowsiness, it is usually given at night with the intention of helping with sleep among other things(although you are on the lowest possible dose). Propranolol can cause drowsiness as well, the controlled -release may cause less. Venlafaxine usually is less likely to cause any drowsiness at all. Only taken 1 10mg amitriptyline yesterday but didn't help with the headache is it worth continuing with it or stop as it was making me more drowsy but not easing the pain?

Gastro prescribed elavil (amitriptyline) (25mg) for crohn's/ibs. Took it in evening, knew could cause drowsiness. Slept 14 hrs & exhausted. Better way to take it?
I am worried about the interaction of Zoloft (sertraline) and elavil , the drowsiness does not bother me as a matter of fact better rest is welcome.
