I'm taking Amitriptyline HCL 25 mg at night for Depression, TMJ pain, and insomnia. My Dr is over 2 hrs away and I think I need an increased dosage?

Dr gave amitriptyline 50mg for pain & insomnia. Seems to help some w/pain, not so much for insomnia. Is higher dose safe w/citalopram& 0.5 xanax? Ty

It seems Amitriptyline helps people sleep. I'm wondering why it made my insomnia worse? I even took it in the AM, and still had horrible insomnia.

Elavil: Substituting high dose of Amitriptyline is not easy, due to withdrawal side-effect if discontinue the high dose.
