Please be careful...: You should be ok from a physical standpoint - one standard drink takes about 2 hours to metabolize; However, it is strongly recommended to avoid alcohol while taking amytriptyline, as the combination can increase drowsiness (putting you or others at risk for injury) and alcohol can reduce the effectiveness of the medication.
