Hi, my mom was prescribed Taizanidine 2 mg and Amitriptyline 5 mg..she got them for pain in lower abdomen in left side. Well do u think there could be another reason for antidepressant prescription?
Pain and insomnia: Difficult to say, but Amitriptyline is commonly used in pain management and also for insomnia. It is not a pain medication, but can be helpful in managing pain. Get second opinion: The combination could readily backfire, as the Elavil (amitriptyline) and Ativan can both cause anti-cholinergic side effects, and additive sedation, lethargy, and dizziness. Yes, but be cautious: Diurex is caffeine and magnesium salicylate. As such it will have the stimulating properties of caffeine including nervousness, tachycardia, insomnia and jitteriness.
