Amiloride Hydrochloride Medication
I'm currently on amiloride hydrochloride, hydrochlorothiazide. And have taken Walgreen's Cough DM. What types of adverse reactions should I expect?
Here are some...: Theoretically, taking dextromethophen-containing cough syrup should not affect the two kinds of water pills you are on. DM itself may induce drowsiness in some, but directly related with these two water pills. Nonetheless, read the precaution labeling and follow. If any doubt during drug use, stop it. More? Ask your doctor timely. ...Read more

Couple of uses: Pilocarpine eye drops are used to treat glaucoma by lowering eye pressure. Pilocarpine is also in salagen, an oral medication used for dry mouth as it stimulates salivation. ...Read more
Yes: Viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride) is a new class of antidepressant. I have found it useful for anxiety as well as depression. It has different side effects than the others so might benefit people who didn't tolerate others well. No weight gain and maybe less sexual dysfunction, but can cause a lot of nausea and diarrhea and must be taken with food. ...Read more

Why take low dosage of blood pressure medication 12.5 mg of hydrochloride if my blood pressure jumped around but was never high.
It depends: It may actually be for your kidneys, but not highly likely. More likely, it is to lower the "peaks" of your blood pressure, so they do not get as high. If you see #s >140 / >90, then your doc is likely doing this. If not, then you should ask your doc the rationale for the med since nothing is risk-free. ...Read more
I know brintellix and viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride) are both very new. Is it safe to try such new medication without there being alot of studies done? Side effects?
Yes: For a medication to be sold in the USA, it has to be approved by the FDA, (federal drug administration), which makes the Drug Co. I just started viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride). I am weaning off pristiq. I have been having severe headaches. Could the new medication cause this? Or from decreasing pristiq?
Headache from meds: There are many causes of severe headache. Viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride) can cause headaches as can weaning from pristiq. But, interestingly, viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride) has also been used to avoid the Pristiq related headache issue! Contacting the doctor who prescribed these medications is vital so that the doctor can immediately diagnose and treat the cause of the "severe headache" which may or may not be related to medication use. ...Read more
Is it true viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride) causes seizures like wellbutrin does? I never had seizures bit don't want a medication that can cause one. How about brintellix?
Viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride) & seizures?: It's probably an oversimplification to say that viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride) "causes" seizures. In some small percentage of the population, it can decrease seizure threshold. Although, it should be noted that most anti-depressants, albeit to widely varying degrees, decrease seizure threshold. The best thing to do is discuss your particular concerns & your risk/ benefit & side effect profile with your prescribing MD. ...Read more
