Post op at home I had a small wound and the gave me dilodid for pain and it is not helping very much what other pain medication do you think will help?
My son 1& half years took hot porridge & got some wounds on the lips. Which medication should I get him because am worried he may be with wounds inside?
Consider function: If he is able to drink fluids without difficulty the mouth injury is likely minimal. If troubled, have him checked. There is no specific meds to use. The saliva has some enzymes that suppress germs so most of these exposures self heal.Ibuprofen as a general pain measure, chilled applesauce or Popsicle pieces are sometimes helpful. Avoid acidic juices like orange/grapefruit. ...Read more
What pain medication is best for wound and stitches healing? And is "apligraf" something I can buy from dischem?
Avoidance: First, get allergy testing done to know which allergens affect you most. Next, eliminate those allergens from your environment. Dust-proofing the home/office is not entirely achievable, but still helps with dust mite allergy. A pet allergy may cost you your pet! If you are allergic to mold, it must be eliminated from the home or office. The only other option is immunotherapy, or allergy shots. ...Read more
What is the typical treatment for a muniscus tear is there surgery involved? What kind of pain medication and how long is recovery?
Hello. I don't know the extent of your injury. Often, arthroscopic surgery is done to the knee. This means that the surgery is done internally, without filleting the knee open. Without knowing more about your injury it is hard to say how long the recovery would be. If there is a small tear and that is removed, your recovery time could be four to six weeks. (this doesn't mean you need to lie in bed for four to six weeks; but you wouldn't want to be playing sports).
It the doctor only needed to remove loose bodies from the joint space, that recovery might take two to four weeks. It the meniscus requires repair, it could take four months or longer for a full recovery. Often patients are prescribed non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications. Narcotics are often prescribed post operatively to control pain. ...Read more
Get an Rx instead: Over-the-counter preparations do not work well. I start with topical Clindamycin with or without a retinoic acid derivative. If needed after a few weeks, consider adding an oral antibiotic such as Erythromycin or tetracycline / Minocycline as suitable for the individual. Dermatologists have the big guns -- accutane, lasers. Freedom from acne should be a person's right. Good luck. ...Read more

What's the best medication for acne on the back? I would say that it is moderate. I use proactive wash but still tend to breakout.

What is the beat solution for severe back, chest, and facial acne (w&b heads). Body washes, o.T.C medications etc. Note: salyitic acid makes it worse.
Prescription Rx: Acne on the trunk usually doesn't clear with any topical medication. You characterize it as severe, and your personal physician may either try a systemic antibiotic plus perhaps a topical retinoic acid derivative, or refer you for Isotretinoin treatment. Piles are Hemorrhoid:
S.They can be internal or external. The local irritation can be soothed with an OTC steroid cream, but we have to get your stools soft and more easily passable. This is done with daily fiber and a little extra water to your system. It will take a week or two to reregulate your system to have a daily, soft BM without the need to force. U can add daily Metamucil to your high fiber diet.
All the best. ...Read more
I have been using the acne medication, neutrogena oil-free acne wash for maybe 3 or stop using the acne wash?
Can you clarify?: This is very weak stuff and if you're still having acne, move to something stronger. Salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, and/or retinoic acid are your best friends. If they don't clear you in a few weeks, or if you have severe acne or it's on your trunk, your physician can add something stronger that will work. Best wishes. ...Read more
