What could calf/eye/arm muscle twitches(non painful)in an 18yr old girl mean? I just finished treatment for amebiasis. Twitching since week 2 of sick.

Many possibilities: Muscle twitches can be caused by a wide variety of things. More common causes are caffeine, stress and nutrient deficiency. If you were having a lot of diarrhea with your amebiasis, you might have also had some nutrient loss. Persistent muscle twitching can also be a symptom of a more serious problem. Amebiasis treatment: does the order if treatment matter? Dr cahill specifically ordered me to take paromomycin first. Followed by tinidazole.

Amoebiasis: Paromomycin will elimated the entamoeba histolytica from the GI tract so that it doesn't get back into the circulation after your extraintestinal disease has been treated with tinidazole, since unless given in very large doses the tinidazole will not affect the colonic amoebae. Your doctor is accurate. Listen to them. ...Read more

Amoebiasis: Invasive disease is extraintestinal and usually involves at least the liver, and many other organ systems may be involved, including heart, lungs, brain. You will usually be symptomatic when this occurs. Intestinal amoebiasis can usually be discerned on microscopic exam of stool specimens to check for efficacy of therapy. ...Read more
