First, insomnia.: Second, what was the cause of the insomnia. Several medial and psychiatric problems can cause insomnia. If Ambien (zolpidem) masked a medical problem, then it would return and perhaps be more severe. While Ambien (zolpidem) does not usually have a significant effect on daytime anxiety, there is a small possibility of rebound anxiety upon its cessation. Not known: The percentage is not known. It's no surprise your insurance won't cover that dosing range as it's an off-label dose at this point. There are many people who will always need something to help them sleep whether it is a mild over-the-counter sleep aid or a prescription mental health medication. Ambien may work wonderfully to get you to sleep as you taper off of Geodon (ziprasidone) however you may ultimately become dependent on Ambien.
