Ambien Not Working
How to keep ambien (zolpidem) working? Only med that has ever worked for me. Will it have cross tolerance with other Meds like klonopin? I know it's short term but the belsomra rx I was given doesn't look promising at all.
Not sure there is a: way. The use of ambien (zolpidem) may not continue if you develop tolerance. You might ask your doc if the dose is right. You have not mentioned your dose, it can be taken up to 10 mg at bedtime. There is not much cross tolerance with klonopin but actually may be additive effects. Would not suggest taking them together if not needed. Try the belsomra at the max dose prior to giving up. Ask your doc ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Is combining Ambien (zolpidem) cr with 50mg of trazadone safe? Ambien (zolpidem) isn't working anymore and I have trazadone was wondering if I can take if Ambien (zolpidem) fails?
Trazadone or ambien (zolpidem)?: Before you make any changes to your medication regimen, you should discuss thoroughly with your provider. Now sounds like a good time to leave your doc a message about how Ambien (zolpidem) has become ineffective (which is one of the many drawbacks of habit forming meds). I have insomnia and tried numerous medications. I am now taking 100mg of seroquel with 10 mg of Ambien (zolpidem) and it is working great. Any problems w/this.
The main question: Is why you have insomnia in the first place. What evaluations have you had for this? There are many causes -- and although the seroquel and Ambien (zolpidem) may knock you out, this does not get to the root cause of your problem. Also, Ambien (zolpidem) is habit-forming, and in time you'll need more medication for the same effect. You might consider seeing a sleep medicine physician for evaluation. ...Read more
