I get wrist and thumb pain/tingling/numbness when playing clarinet, piano, writing, typing etc. I really can't stop playing these instruments. Advice?
Stop playing! :): Sorry, but it was too easy to respond by saying to stop doing the thing that causes pain! seriously, if playing games (i assume video?)causes severe pain, it is likely related to overuse and irritation of nerves, tendons or muscles. Both wrist lock like trigger thumb. They both get stuck. What could this be? Look at utube locked wrist &thats my wrist

Probably not..: Playing the guitar has not been shown to be a significant risk for joint disease, unless you have tendency to develope arthritis anyway. In that case, the arthritis may come a bit earlier because of excessive use/movement of the joints that are pre-disposed to disease.
