It is rarely helpful: There are some theoretical reasons why it can help and anecdotal evidence for its utilization although amantadine is a relatively challenging medicine to both tolerate as a patient and dose as a clinician so it requires a lot of fine tuning to be a useful intervention. PD MEDS & HTN: There is no evidence in the medical literature that Mirapex, Azilect (rasagiline) and Amantadine will increase the blood pressure however if the Parkinson's patient has orthostatic hypotension dopamine agonist such as Mirapex can worsen it. I have not seen Mirapex, Amantadine or Azilect (rasagiline) increase blood pressure in my patients. ...Read more
