Begin slowly: MVP is generally not dangerous. Relatively increased heart rate with very mild exertion can be signs of dehydration, anemia (low blood count) or thyroid issues, and a high adrenalin state related to stress and anxiety. Shortness of breath: Shortness of breath can be caused by lots of things, from asthma to anxiety. Histal hernia generally won't cause it. Nor will mitral valve prolapse. However the anxiety that sometimes goes along with the mitral valve prolapse diagnosis could. Have you had allergies or asthma? Do you only get short of breath under stress or with exercise? Depends: It depends on whether or not you have mitral valve regurgitation and how severe. There are a whole lot of mvp diagnosed patients who actually do not have it per the new criteria, so any further advice i would give you would be mere speculation because I do not even know if you truly have mvp.
