Basically any: All birth control pills have some positive metabolic effects that improve pcos. Some of the progestins are slightly preferred but if you find one is better than the other and not on the "list" don't worry. They all help. If you were my pt at your age i would use the best in my opinion and the lowest dose pill for you which is loloestrin, and if u are just using it for birth control i would rec an in office tubal that i do, takes 5 minutes easy , no down time effective, and if u didnt want periods anymore then i would offer u an in office endometrial ablation, easy takes 8 minutes. ...Read more

Complicted.: blood clots can be a problem with your condition. Do you have plans for pregancy? Being pregnant can be risky as well and you might have to take blood thinner shots during pregnancy. Perhaps: For most people on a low estrogen formulation of the oral contraceptive, it is the Progesterone component of the pill that is most associated with depression. There are many different progestoerones and a different one from the one in orthotricyclin may have less of a mood effect.
