Better Rx?: This isn't really the most targeted therapy for seborrheic dermatitis. You have a lot of choices. A salicylic acid face wash, or something containing ketoconazole, may be the most helpful. Your physician can guide you. Seborrheic dermatitis isn't curable but is very manageable. There are other crea: Promiseb costs over$100!!!!! Insurance often will not cover or require a huge co-pay. But you can wash with zinc pyrethium or selenium sulfide (Head and Shoulders etc.). Best in shower, wash scalp, face, chest. Rub in OTC azole cream costing about $5: miconazole, clotrimazole, ketoconazole. Rub in OTC hydrocortisone cream. Can combine 1 from each group.
