In general no: Cholinesterase inhibitors like Aricept and Exelon (rivastigmine) slow functional decline in early dementia but do not modify the overall decline seen with dementia. In moderate and late disease these medicines decrease anxiety, agitation and aggression. Combining the medications is unlikely to offer benefit clinically and may increase side effects. ...Read more
