So it could be that a drink with lower alcohol could be considered safer because it had less alcohol and hence prevented unnecessary weight gain or other complications. Yes: I believe that energy drinks are worse than sugar sweetened beverages due to addition of more caffeine than found in usual soft drinks, not to mention greater serving sizes per container, which increases stress on heart & brain.
