Already Following Alkaline
Want to know whether we should be bother about chinese calander if my wife is already following alkaline diet from last four months(to have a baby boy?
Not sure: I am not an expert on what you are asking. I do know that chinese medicine is accurate. If you know a chinese medicine expert, ask them. My best answer would be that the energy of the alkaline diet coupled with the chinese calendar would increase the likelihood of conceiving the child you want. ...Read more
Alkaline phosphatase: Alkaline phosphatase is an enzyme that usually comes from the liver and/or bones. Certain liver and bone diseases may result in alkaline phosphatase elevation. Treating the disease may help alkaline phosphatase fall. In some people there may be a small asymptomatic increase of ap, which doesn't need to be treated. ...Read more
All are alkaline : It may be a lay person expression , as seen in our blood our body ph is 7.4 , which is alkaline side , kept at that level with very little shift in our acid / base balance , we can not survive if it is 7.5 or 7.3. ...Read more
Lots of reasons: There are many reasons that a laboratory value can change. In the case of alk phos they could have recently changed the assay being used (whihc did happen at some major labs last fall with this test). Change in diet, things affected the liver gallbladder or the bones can also alter the alk phos level. ...Read more
Nothing: This is phony physiology from a charlatan's website. Ignore this stuff. Your body maintains its ph at around 7.40 -- neither acid nor alkaline -- and anyone who tells you otherwise is simply trying to make a quick buck off gullible people who have grammar-school chemistry. ...Read more

What is a good alkaline food chart to follow? It seems that the ones i google are all slightly different.
This isn't science: The reason that they are all different is because there's basically no science here. Foods with lots of sulfur and/or phosphate are metabolized into more acid, but this isn't the key to health or illness. Please don't self-treat using subscientific stuff; if you're interested in holistic thought in medicine, find an evidence-based practitioner of this school. ...Read more
Discuss with dr.: Each lab has a different range for what is normal for alkaline phosphate. One lab's norm is 20 to 140 iu/l. So in that case, 255 would be elevated. The alkaline phosphate level can be used to help confirm certain diseases (i.e., like a blocked bile duct). I don't know why you have this level, please discuss it with your doctor. ...Read more
Some concern: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, both of the enzymes are present at higher than normal levels and suggest liver damage. If you drink alcohol, please stop entirely. It would be prudent to discuss it with your doctor. ...Read more
Liver or bone: Answer can depend on situation. Pregnancy can raise alk phos level. In general, however, the source is either liver or bone and the reason should be determined, since the causes can be treated. There are too many possibilities to list and your doctor will have to determine the source, possibly by doing additional testing. Liver may mean hepatitis or bile duct blockage. Bone can be paget's disease. ...Read more
