Edema: Any time there is significant edema its important to make the heart (which you checked), the liver and the kidneys are ok. You can loose protein in the blood from these diseases and it can result in swelling. See your doctor and get a urine test for protein and blood as well as liver panel to make sure these are ok. No damage: First of all a few breaths of isopropyl alcohol once inn your life is not going to do any damage. Second, orthodontists do not use alcohol-based impression materials. Stress: Watchful waiting seems to the right decision. Stress seems to play a role in elevating your BP. Keep checking your blood pressure couple of times a week, try to reduce salt intake, daily exercise and 7-8 h of good quality sleep.
