How is the best way to quit from Xanax (alprazolam) medication currently taking 1mg before bedtime for 5 months now , II like to stop?
See your MD: Your dr needs to evaluate you and explain the treatment plan. You may be able decrease the dose gradually over a 3 - 4 week period. Some mds may prefer to switch the xanax (alprazolam) to long acting "benzo" med from which you can taper off more comfortably. Again only an md who has evaluated you should decide how best you can be treated. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers

Are there medications or other things besides alcohol that will dangerously increase the effects of xanax (alprazolam)?
Yes: Any medication or drug that sedates you, will combine with the sedating effects of xanax (alprazolam). This would include all sleeping medications, antipsychotics, other benzodiazepines, many antidepressants, etc. Xanax (alprazolam) is also metabolized by certain liver enzyme systems which can be impacted by other drugs and grapefruit juice. Drugs that inhibit these enzymes can increase effects of xanax (alprazolam). ...Read more
How many alprazolam 1 ml should be much medication is a safe percription.Right now they want me to take 120 a month 1four times a day ?
Alprazolam: Alprazolam comes in milligrams (mg) not milliliters (ml). If 1mg 4 times a day is your starting dose on this medication, this is very high. If you have worked up to it, it's still high. I don't know your history or diagnosis, but there may be other medications and/or treatments that could assist you without exposure to this much potential sedation and habituation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I was prescribed restoril30mg, didn't work so i took 60mg, didn't work, what if i add Xanax (alprazolam) to it, or what is other sleeping medications?
My sister is having seziures and I think its from her medication. She is taking Xanax (alprazolam) and at night melatonin could the two be a bad combination?
See a doctor: If your sister is having seizures, she should see a doctor immediately so that a diagnosis can be made and treatment prescribed. Withdrawal from large doses of Xanax (alprazolam) can cause seizures, so if she is taking a large dose and suddenly stops it she might have seizures. Otherwise it is unlikely that either Xanax (alprazolam) or melatonin would cause seizures. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
