Alprazolam Chemical Structure
Have GAD since teen. Eating large when anxious was difficult. Now i take Xanax and able to eat very large meals and put on weight. Is there chemical in Xanax that stimulates hunger or im just relaxed?
Relaxed: Xanax is a tranquilizer and has mild anti depressive activity. I hope that you are seeing your primary care physician as eating disorders can be quite serious. You might consider also consider seeing a nutritionist to guide you in meal planning. Woke up in night with reflux from my meds awful burning and chemical fumes smell and vapor feeling the pain is terrible Xanax and gabapentine & ambien?
Tried ssri/xanax for depression/anxiety, bad reactions. I heard wellbutrin works on different brain chemicals than ssri's. Can wellbutrin help?
Wellbutrin: Wellbutrin does work on different neurotransmitters than SSRI's - specifically norepinephrine and dopamine. That said, you mentioned using Xanax in the past - and Wellbutrin does have an "activating" effect for many people. So, it's probably not the best option for you. Xanax: Is a fast acting and short acting (few hours only), only treat symptoms. It never treat any problem to the root cause of the problems. Thus is very addictive. Must always be given in conjonction with another med that treats the cause of the problem then stop it when the other med works well to suppress the symptoms.
