List?: I'm not sure what you mean by your question? There are all kinds of lipoic acid capsules, made by many different companies. For a good review of some that are independently tested, check https://www. Consumerlab. Com/reviews/alpha-lipoic_acid_supplements/alphalipoic/ you may need to subscribe, but $33/year is worth it since you get reviews of many products, not just this one. Good luck.

Can I take alpha lipoic acid for weight loss?

Can I take alpha lipoic acid for weight loss?

Alpha lipoic acid: Alpha lipoic acid is unlikely to hurt weight loss efforts but there is very limited amounts of data that it will provide significant benefits. Most analysis of diet related data speaks to the notion that calorie content trumps any micro or macro nutrient in a diet.

Anyone have any positive thoughts about regularly taking alpha lipoic acid supplements? If so, what dosage?

Anyone have any positive thoughts about regularly taking alpha lipoic acid supplements? If so, what dosage?

Yes: I think Alpha lipoic acid is an excellent supplement if you are taking a high quality product. Some products have a lot of added ingredients and fillers which make them undigestable and possibly toxic. Ala helps with Insulin metabolism, and liver detoxification. Its a good antioxidant as well, which helps your overall health. The dosage varies depending on your condition.

What's alpha-lipoic acid?

Antioxidant: Alpha-lipoic acid (ala) is an antioxidant that is made by the body and is found in every cell, where it helps turn glucose into energy. Antioxidants generally neutralize free radicals, which cause inflammation in the body. Studies support the use of al:a for diabetes, but not for weight loss.

I have both antonomatic and periferal Nuropathy and have started on both AlC and alpha lipoic Acid but have no real clue how much of each to take?

I have both antonomatic and periferal Nuropathy and have started on both AlC and alpha lipoic Acid but have no real clue how much of each to take?

Prescribed?: Did a physician prescribe these medications for you? These certainly would not be the usual and customary medications for either an autonomic nor a peripheral neuropathy. Suggest strongly that you see a neurologist to assist in a diagnostic and treatment plan.

Is too much alpha lipoic acid a risk for heart attacks?

No: Anna, alpha lipoic acid is an important participant in many metabolic processes in your body. There has never been a reliable study linking alpha lipoic acid to either heart disease or cancer. That being said, too much of anything is not good. Take in moderation. Hope this helps!

Is it safe to use low doses of alpha lipoic acid while breastfeeding?

Is it safe to use low doses of alpha lipoic acid while breastfeeding?

Almost certainly: Alpha lipoic acid is always in our bodies as we synthesize it. It's very safe without serious side effects. Like most supps. Research hasn't been done on pregnant ; lactating women so its safety for such people "has not been established" but I have no reason to believe it wouldn't be safe; there's no evidence to suggest it would be hazardous. Would you suggest to use hyaluronic acid and alpha lipoic acid supplements?

Would you suggest to use hyaluronic acid and alpha lipoic acid supplements?

Alpha-lipoic acid: There's good research evidence for using alpha-lipoic acid in peripheral neuropathy http://tinyurl. Com/l4bvz9z, as an antioxidant, and in migraines http://tinyurl. Com/jvo6x9n -- some other uses also. Hyaluronic acid may help in osteoarthritis and aging skin, but evidence is not as robust as with alpha-lipoic acid in above uses. They are safe, but please inform your doctor you're taking them.

S it fine to take glutathione 500mg, milk thistle extract 100mg, alpha lipoic acid 50mg, combined with d alpha tocopheryl acetate 400 iu?

Analysis: Why do you take all these items? . Where did you find such advice? Glutathione is a wonderful anti-oxidant, but does NOT cross into the brain, so of questionable value in bloodstream. Milk thistle extract has questionable benefit in most cases. Alpha lipoic useful in peripheral and central nerve disorders. You are far better off using mixed tocopherols, especially with gamma. Do you know if alpha-lipoic acid is a detoxifier?

Do you know if alpha-lipoic acid is a detoxifier?

Mythical thinking: There is NO SUCH THING as detoxification. The notion that your body needs help to "detox" from "toxins" is a MYTH. Your body detoxifies itself just fine no matter what you do. Think critically. Arm yourself with REAL KNOWLEDGE, not pseudoscience. Be a skeptic, not a sucker. The traveling medicine shows & snake-oil salesmen may be gone but the quacks, the ignorant & the gullible are with us still.
