Allergies: Probably not. Try irrigating the nose on both sides with saline. Add 1 tsp salt to one quart of water and get a syringe and blow it into the nose. 50 cc each side 4 to five times a day. Use Flonase I. The nose 2 Sprays twice a day each nostril and see how this works. You can try a decongestant like Sudafed for a few days for the nasal congestion. I was born without a sense of smell and people have always told me i could regain it. But how can I regain somthing i never had? I have allergies but my nose is usually open to let air flow through. I still have my 4 other senses and they all work perfect

Excellent : Excellent question. I think you are right, if you never had the sense of smell you will likely not get it. It may be due to other problems (allergies, sinusitis, nasal polyps, viral damage to the olfactory nerve). Are there any other associated symptoms? Yes it could: certainly be allergic or hypersensitivity reaction to the odor. Or you could just be too anxious to be rid of that smell. My suspicion is that you do have an allergy to certain floral/ natural occurring substance in that perfume, and will need to seek help with a healthcare professional for treatment.
