Why would I have an allergic reaction to homemade lobster hours after eating it(approx 5 hours)? This has never happened before.

I am allergic to seafood but i can eat tunafish and breaded shrimp can I eat lobster and crab without having an allergic reaction?
Difficult to answer: Seafood includes shellfish and fish. Shellfish includes mollusks and crustaceans. You describe being able to eat a sea dwelling fish (tuna) and a crustacean (shrimp). Therefore you are not allergic to seafood. Lobsters and crabs are crustaceans and share the same allergy inducing protein tropomyosin. Allergic Reaction?: Not sure what you mean by allergic reaction. If you are referring to anaphylaxis then epinephrine is the treatment of choice, call 911. Allergic rhinitis is treated with OTC antihistamines, daily intranasal steroid or antihistamine sprays, saline rinses, etc. Allergy shots also an option.
