I'm allergic to iodine. I am hashi hypothyroid. Can only take brand Synthroid & cytomel. But when taken together I have a severe allergic reaction.
Check w/Pharmacist: If you mean taking the two pills at the same time causes a reaction, but taking either one by itself does not, then you could try taking them several hours apart (like one w/bkfst and other w/dinner). Maybe: Ct contrast agents is usually iodinated and are classifed as either ionic or non-ionic. Some are more allergy-prone than others. Ct scan contrast is totally different than MRI contrast. In contrast, MRI contrast agents usually contains chelated gadolinium. It depends.: If the exam requires IV contrast to make the diagnosis, you may need to take medicine before the study. Usually patients that require contrast who have had a prior reaction will take a combination prep of steroids and benedryl if you really need contrast.
