Other insect species, like bees, yellow jackets, wasps, hornets and fire ants actually inject venom into their prey and can not only cause localized pain and swelling, but severe, acute allergic reactions in ...Read more

28/f, itchy skin all over body, no rash. Scared it could be lymphoma. Read its a common symptom. No dry skin, not allergic reaction. No other problems?
Get checked by Docto: Itching is common among normal healthy people. Most often it is due to dry skin which is very common in colder winter months(home heat make sit much worse). It is not a common symptom or lymphoma. So you can get that out of your mind. Use some oily lotions daily and it should settle down. If it gets worse/persists despite well oiled skin, then get a medical check up from your doctor. ...Read more
Allergic reaction to clothing 3 wks ago, skin has red itchy rash. Taking antihistamine and using calamine to calm but its still there and v dry too?
Possible, unlikely: Generally if a person is allergic to 1 cat, they will be allergic to all cats. This is in contrast to dogs, where there is some breed differences. The common cat allergens are proteins from the dander that are attached to the fur and in the saliva when fur is licked. There are allergenic proteins in the serum (blood) but likely less of an exposure.... ...Read more

Started 1 month ago itchy skin only when sleeping i have allergies and dry skin not taking medication and no rashes or bumps i train and work at a gym?
Itchy skin turns into fast spreading rash like bumps when scratched. Both arms and right leg. Do have allergies & asthma. Not on meds for allergies.
Happy to help.: There are a couple of possibilities. First, dermatographism is a condition where scratching or marking the skin causes hives. Second, hives can arise without scratching as well. Antihistamines like Zyrtec/Allegra can help. If this persists, I'd recommend seeing an allergist who can allergy test you and help determine if other conditions are present. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Ige level of 760, all other blood tests normal. Itchy skin and throat. Allergies or parasites? So worried and can't see allergist until next week.
Likely allergies: Parasitic infections in the us are much less likely than allergies as a cause for elevated ige levels (unless you have had recent travel outside the us, especially to a 3rd world country). The itchy skin and throat also are more likely allergic manifestations. In the absence of other symptoms, waiting a week to see an allergist should not be a risk. www.mainlineent.com. ...Read more
