Viral? Allergic?: Blotchy appearing reddish rashes can occur when the blood flow in the tiny vessels at the skin's surface change, such as in an allergic rash, a viral rash, or in reaction to changes in skin temperature. Viral infections that cause cold symptoms and other symptoms can sometimes cause such skin patterns (fifth disease, caused by a virus, can cause reddish patterns). A doctor can evaluate if needed. ...Read more

Past three days been extremely itchy all over body, primarily arms and legs. No rashes, etc. No new changes at all. No allergies. What can be cause?
May be hard to find: About 50 % of cases of itching without rash, one is not able to figure out the cause. Of course, the common allergens are something inhaled that the histamines in the body react to; or some new perfume or scented lotion, deodorant or something else new used on skin. Suggest taking an otc antihistamine daily, take only lukewarm showers. Will likely go away in 2-3 weeks. If not, the usual: c the doc. ...Read more

Large painful bite looking bump on side of neck, allergic reaction to bandaid covering it, now rash around neck, chest, legs, and arms. Very itchy!
From your description, the area on the side of the neck may be an insect bite, and the total body rash part of an allergic reaction.Exam the neck area for any bite marks, stingers. I would suggest not attempting to remove the stinger. Applying Hydrocortisone and Calamine in combination with an antihistamine may provide relief.
I agree that if you have any breathing problems, proceed to the ED. ...Read more
Hi I took venalfaxine was fine when took 1st one but when took 2en one my arms nd legs went number throat felt like was closein up but it wasn't panic attack or allergic reaction I had them before years ago?
If a precipitous event as you describe is NOT allergic then, the event is likely not due to the medication either. I believe a bit more history on how symptoms evolved and subsided would help. Could there've been an interaction with another drug you're taking? Call your doctor about this as well.

I got my 1st HPV in Dec of 2010 which I had no reaction to. I didn't get my second one until Oct of 2013. I had tingling in my arms and legs after that one for 2 weeks and my gyno said don't get the 3rd but im scared im at risk only getting two?
OK to re-vaccinate: It is unlikely the tingling was a vaccine side effect; I think your gynecologist was being unnecessarily cautious. You still need 2 more doses and maybe 3. Back in 2010, the vaccine covers only 4 HPV types; but in 2013, it could have been either Gardasil-4 or Gardasil-9. Nowadays, only G-9 is available; you need a total of 3 G-9 doses. ...Read more

Sounds fungal: Would need more background information as there are several potential causes for rash such as this. However, ruling out fungal infection is at top of list. Coconut oil has good antimicrobial properties and may have helped calm an inflammatory reaction to the infection, but does not seem to have completed the task. Would see a physician to confirm and take antifungal medication. ...Read more

Not yet: Symptoms such as rash after exposure to something like food may be due to an allergy, but there are multiple things, both allergic and non allergic, that can cause a rash. Red, raised, rash on arms and legs, allergic raction from Depo-Provera provera (medroxyprogesterone) shot?
Reaction to Depo: Can happen, usually due to the carrier the progestin is in, but could also be the progestin itself. Unfortunately, once you get the shot, you are along for the ride. Allergy treatment is about the best you can do, usually using an anti-histamine. A natural approach is quercitin, a natural antihistamine found in the skin of red apples. ...Read more
