What if i accidentally took 4 allegra (fexofenadine) pills?

What if i accidentally took 4 allegra (fexofenadine) pills?

Probably not much: If they were 30 or 60 mg then probably not much. Not sure about 180 mg. Suggest contacting poison control center in your area. The more important question is why you took four. Not to assume anything but if it were intentional in an attempt to harm yourself then seek someone's help now. ...Read more

Between Mon & Tues I took 3 Allegra (fexofenadine) pills for a cold. Today Wed, I'm feeling weird in my head. I also am on Minocycline. Should I be concerned?

No: Good that you ask when on multiple medications. Although what do you mean by "weired"? What kind of allegra, (fexofenadine) and what dosage? We don't know and also how much minocycline you're on and for how long? we don't know, but either of them can cause drowsiness as a side effect, although they don't interact. If you really don't feel yourself and the symptoms are worrisome, see your doctor, ...Read more

Can I take an allegra (fexofenadine) pill about an hour after drinking thera flu?

Too much : In general I would not advise taking Allegra (fexofenadine) 30 min. after TheraFlu .TheraFlu contains an antihistamine called chlorpheniramine which would last for approximately 4 to 6 hours. So, you should wait that time frame, then it would be safe. ...Read more

Why will happen if you take a Claritin (loratadine) 24 hour and then 12 hours later take an allegra allergy pill?

Is it okay for me to take my daily allegra (fexofenadine) allergy pill before a test?

Yes: Fexofenadine, or Allegra (fexofenadine) has no effect on the central nervous system or brain, even at high doses. There should be no sedation or impairment of your ability to take the exam. An interesting controlled study from the netherlands several years ago did show, however, that non-allergic students did better than allergic students even with treatment with clartin, a non-sedating antihistamiine. So study! ...Read more

So i'm using allegra (fexofenadine) allergy pills, and i'm going to a party where there will be some alcohol, what can happen if I drink?

Little interaction: Allegra does not cross from the bloodstream into the brain so it does not cause sedation or other behavioral side-effects. It's an excellent choice as an antihistamine if you plan to consume alcohol. Claritin rarely causes sedation, zyrtec sometimes (~10%) and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) often (25-50%) - so don't mix these with alcohol. I know that because you asked you are planning to drink responsibly. ...Read more

Under my tongue feels like sandpaper. I started taking my allergy pills, allegra, (fexofenadine) a few days ago. I'm scared that my dry tongue is something serious.

Discuss the issue: There is nothing to be scared about. A dry tongue rarely, if ever, is a serious issue, especially when related to a side effect of medication and then only short term. Discuss this issue with your dentist whom i'm sure will give you good advice and put your mind at ease. Not knowing or not doing the right thing would be of more concern to me and should be to you. ...Read more

I heard that Claritin (loratadine) needs several days of consecutive use to be effective. Are other allergy pills like Allegra (fexofenadine) similar?

This is a myth: Antihistamines vary in their onset of action (how quickly they relieve symptoms). Allegra, Zyrtec and Benadryl start helping in 2 hours, Claritin in 4 hours. Claritin is generally the least effective, hence the rumor that it takes days to help. ...Read more

Zyrtec, claritin, (loratadine) allegra, clarinex. Other allergy pill options? Year-round, persistant allergies. Wet in ears, post-nasal drip (sore throat).

Zyrtec, claritin, (loratadine) allegra, clarinex. Other allergy pill options? Year-round, persistant allergies. Wet in ears, post-nasal drip (sore throat).

Before you go : Looking for another allergy medication, i would keep the one that works best for you and take it diligently everyday with a steroid nasal spray twice daily for a month to see a big difference with just burst of meds here and there and only when you feel like it. If you have already done this, then it is time to see your doctor, possibly referral to allergist or ENT depends on what the problem is. ...Read more
