Aleve (aka naprosyn/naproxen) is taken twice a day whereas ibuprofen (aka Motrin, Advil) is a med that can be taken every 6 to 8 hours (this 3 or 4 times a day). I believe that taking drugs like Motrin may prevent healing of a tendon injury since the body uses inflammation to help stimulate healing. Matter of opinion: The advantage of Naproxen is that it lasts a bit longer than Ibuprofen (motrin). Naproxen should be taken every 12 hours; Ibuprofen every 6 - 8 hours.
