Ask your surgeon: It is normal to have pain the first day following bunion surgery. Try to avoid excessive medication. Rest the foot. Elevate the foot, ice the foot. Take it easy. My wife has developed a sudden allergy to nsaids and can no longer take naproxen, ponstan etc for severe period pain. Are there alternatives?

Acetaminophen: Acetaminophen is available over the counter. Other pain medications will require a prescription. Consider using a birth control method to suppress periods. You should be fine: but always read package instructions before taking any medication. This package probably said take ONE pill at a time. If you didn't have any stomach discomfort, you are lucky. WIth any of the NSAIDs be sure you have food in your stomach. Good luck. ...Read more
