How do you get trained to volunteer in alcoholics anonymous?

Positive 12 steps: First you need to attend meetings consistently. Then you pick a sponsor and work with them. Once you are ready can can sponsor(volunteer). It takes time to ripen. Care for self 1st: Taking care of you first, is important. You can attend alanon meetings, which are for family and friends of alcoholics. This group can familiarize you with typical family patterns in alcoholism, and the 12 step process also. Thus supported, you'll be better able to deal with your family member. Not Complete Approac: Alcoholic Anonymus has been around since 1935 with a primary purpose to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve Soberiety.It has helped many alcoholics over the years. It is not a complete approach to alcoholics,it helps some but not all and success rate is low.and has been replaced with traditional rehab programme which treats the withdrawl and anxiety associated with it,some people need ...Read more
