Yes: Low iron has been reported to be a cause of itchy skin and even hair loss. If you have had a period for 4 months, it is a highly likely problem. Well: It gets red and itches then goes away, no rash or bumps. It could be a rash or what is called idiopathic urticaria, release of inflammation due to stress. Oddlly enough sometimes an h-2 bkocker like tagamet for the the stomach can help. It may be allergic reaction or something else and i would not avoid seeing a doctor. Not expected.: Alcohol usually worsens itching unless one has drunk oneself into a semi-stupor. Not all itching is induced by histamine and thus it may not work at all.
